To all of you praying, thank you...I did not mean to leave you hanging :)
We spoke with our facilitator this morning...we have officially been processed but all the Jan. dates have been issued. Seems we will be traveling in Feb. Please pray the Lord might be pleased to have us travel the first part of Feb. They have been giving couples a 2 1/2 to 3 week notice only..pray we get a 3 week plus notice..that would be great! Our facilitator will check back on Fri. to see if the SDA is ready to release our travel date. I am getting so excited as Feb. will mark 10 months of working towards this adoption...yet I am so sad as the time draws closer to leave our children. Please please be in prayer for our children and for Sarah and Jody who will be watching our them.

The Risse Family
We are a Christian couple, who followed the Lord to Eastern Europe, to bring home our son through adoption. The Lord has been so kind in blessing us with 7 children. We have 5 here to enjoy on this earth (ages 8, 6, 5, 4, and 3 ) and two with the Lord. To God be all the glory.
Our Adoption Timeline
- Week of April 11 - Found this child. Started praying and seeking the Lord over him and the Lord's will for us.
- Week of April 18 - Lots of praying and lots of research.
- April 21 - Mike and I in agreement that the Lord is directing our steps towards adoption.
- April 25- Commit to the Lord to bring this child home, our son, if He wills.
- Week of May 2 - Still researching social workers/agencies for home study. Need to start the home study process this week, in hopes to get somethings completed before our GA trip.
- May 3 - Contact many social workers...we only have 3 options, they are all agencies....we shall see.
- May 11 - one full month has passed since we found this child. We have chosen a social worker and are praying for direction as we choose our in country facilitator.
- May 16 - YAY! we have our facilitator!
- May 19 - filing for passports today :)
- 5 -24 Mike and I State and FBI fingerprints
- May 16 - working on paperwork for our social worker/home study. Need to get passports this week and need to make a commitment to an in country facilitator.
- 5 - 25 Kids physicals and pictures
- 5 - 26 Mike and I physicals
- 5 - 26 turned in all home study documents, now wait for home visit!
- June 19 - home from GA...passports and immigration papers arrive....just found out July 11th our countires adoptions will stop for some time in order to change authority.
- June 27 - POA forms and money sent to our country
- USCIS immigration forms sent and Homestudy visit on July 7th!
- July 11 - Working hard on Dossier
- Aug 17 - Still delayed in waiting on FBI clearance.
- Aug 23 - GOT FBI CLEARANCE!! Finalized homestudy!
- Aug. 28 - Waiting on immigrations approval
- Sept. 15 Biometrics appt. for immigrations.
- Sept 22 - Mail homestudy addendum to USCIS
- Sept. 23 - Go to Pierre for Apostilles!
- Oct 11 - got pink slip from Immigrations and overnighted their requested info to them.
- 10 - 25 Praise the Lord! Got Immigrations Approval in the mail !
- 10-26 Mike drives to Pierre for the last 2 Apostilles and GOODBYE Dossier, we mail it off to Ukrain* today!!!! Praising the Lord.
- Nov 6 - Dossier still not arrived to our facilitator...waiting and praying
- 11 - 7 Our Dossier arrives into safe hands..praying for 11/10 submission date
- 11-30 WE ARE SUBMITTED!
- Jan. 18...got appt. date...YAY
- Feb. 8..SDA appt. date
- 2/10 meet him for the first time
- 3/2 court, he is ours!
- March 16, 2012 Gotcha Day!
- March 25 American Citizen !

Glad you have an update...not sure why it has to be so difficult to get a date! ... but I know its ultimately in God's hands. Praying for your family :)
